Our Business

In the complex and busy world of public health, time is the resource in shortest supply.  Many projects and issues are of limited scope, but cannot be completed because existing staff do not have the time to fully evaluate the issue, explore alternatives for resolution and develop an implementation plan. 

Registry Widgets supplies expertise to evaluate, enhance, design, and implement processes to improve public health programs. With short, focused input from public health staff, Registry Widgets can complete a specific project within a set timeframe, eliminating the need to increase staff or re-assign staff away from their duties.

We maintain a staff of experienced consultants who specialize in electronic reporting and data processing, with a specialization in public health.  We devote ourselves to continual improvement to maintain our leadership. 

Who We Are

Wendy Scharber, RHIT, CTR

Specializes in implementing innovative strategies to meet the needs of public health by integrating public health into Health IT initiatives.

•  21 years of cancer registry experience in establishing and maintaining a state cancer registry
• 6 years consulting with international, US federal and state agency responsible for cancer surveillance activities in their jurisdiction
• 5 years integrating public health cancer registries into National eHealth Initiatives

Ms. Scharber's methods have served as the basis for developing national standards for electronic pathology reporting, electronic physician reporting and automated tumor linkage and consolidation.

Elaine Collins, RHIA, CTR

Specializes in data collection for cancer registries including:

• Training presentations for hospital cancer and central cancer registries
• Mapping, conversion specifications, and implementation guidelines for Collaborative Stage Data Collection System version 2
• Rules for mapping data from CAP electronic checklists into Collaborative Stage Data Collection system version
