About Us

Wendy Scharber has been in the cancer registry profession for over 20 years. As the Assistant Director for Information Management with the Minnesota Cancer Surveillance System she directed the activities of the IT Unit by defining the scope of IT projects, setting timelines and developing functional specifications. Her special interest is in automating registry processes such as tumor linkage and consolidation, and electronic pathology reporting so that CTRs can use their time and abilities to perform more complex and interesting activities.

As an active member of the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR), serving on subcommittees for Electronic Pathology Reporting and Record Consolidation, collaborates on developing national standards for cancer registration.
She is the Chair of the Data Item Consolidation Workgroup and contributes to the Tumor Linkage Workgroup.

Ms. Scharber collaborates with the European Network of Cancer Registries on automated cancer registration and with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on modeling the business practices of cancer registration operations, and is a member of SNOMED International’s Surgical Pathology Working Group.

Nothing is really work unless you would rather be doing something else. Sir James Barrie
